Stay Ahead of the Financial Industry with FICS Certification Programs at NUS-Risk Management Institute The increasing importance of risk management in the changing landscape of financial industry is undeniable. For a qualified finance industry professional, it is critical to be risk intelligent. The Risk Management Institute (RMI), a university-level research institute at the National University of Singapore, is pleased to offer training opportunities with a series of risk management certification programs under the Financial Industry Competency Standards (FICS) framework. With support and endorsement from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), RMI’s FICS programs provide financial practitioners with a defined roadmap to guide them towards professional recognition and certification. The RMI offers a list of 8 independent programs including Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management (Insurance). This program comprises three (3) modules and is designed to meet the FICS training and certification requirements for Job Role V in Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management – Insurance. Upon completion of the course and in meeting the minimum attendance requirements, Certificate of Attendance (COA) will be awarded for each module, and upon passing the formal assessments, Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to successful candidates on a competence unit basis. In the case of successful completion of one whole job family, a Specialist Diploma will also be awarded.. With relevant working experiences, the candidates will also be entitled the Financial Industry Certified Professional, the highest certification mark for a financial practitioner in Singapore under the FICS framework All programs (both training and assessment) are eligible for the FICS funding which sponsors 90% of fees until the end of 2010 (T&C apply). A 5-week bridging session focused on basic quantitative methods and financial theory will also be offered as an optional module and will start from 15 Jan 2010. All courses will be held weekly from 7pm -1 pm, from Jan 2010 to July 2010. Registration is now open and the deadline is 10 business days ahead of class commencement.
