The impact of machine learning on insurance pricing

About the Talk

Across industries, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are gaining traction, attention and appreciation. For the insurance sector, the challenge is to combine in a meaningful way these trends with traditional methodologies which have been proven to be successful over decades. This seminar looks into the potential of AI and ML when tailored to the world of insurance, and gives examples where we could see real value in their application.

About the Speakers

Thibault Imbert is Insurance Solutions Manager at Munich Re. He previously worked at AXA for 8 years, where he held several positions focused on Risk Management and Pricing before joining Munich Re as an Actuarial Consultant. Thibault hold a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne. 

Aymeric Blanchet is Head of Product at Akur8. He started working at Axa Global Direct in the pricing team before joining Kamet (startup studio) to contribute to the development of Akur8, spending 4 years as an actuarial data scientist before evolving towards the product. Aymeric graduated from Télécom ParisTech.

Estelle Lebar is Client Executive at Akur8, in charge of the APAC market. Prior to that, Estelle held several positions in the insurance industry as a Task Force Director at Swiss Life France, as an internal controller at AXA Global Direct and as Client Executive at Shift Technology, where she spent 4 years. Estelle holds a master’s degree in Management from ESCP Europe.
