Dear SAS members,

The Big Data Committee is pleased to host an afternoon forum on Introduction to Python.  This afternoon forum is held in collaboration with the Actuarial Networking Night, a platform for professionals and students to network and share insights.

Python is one most popular programming languages in the world today. With wide ranging applications from data science to web development to statistical modelling, the Python programming language can add versatility to the modern day actuary. This "Introduction to Python" session aims to demonstrate the practical use of Python for day-to-day work. It will also equip actuaries with the knowledge of the "Pandas" package - a powerful data analytics toolkit. Topics covered include set-up instructions for Python, Data exploration and manipulation using "Pandas" and predictive modelling using a real world data set.

We are pleased to welcome three speakers Karthikan, Ling Yit and Guoyu for this introduction to Python afternoon forum.
