Actuarial Intern

China Re Group is the largest reinsurance group in Asia and the 8th globally by gross premium income. The Group is rated “A (excellent)” continuously by A.M. Best since 2010, rated “A+” or “A” continuously by Standard & Poor’s since 2014.

In 2016, we set up China Re Singapore Branch with the approval of a license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Our office is located within Raffles Place, at CapitaGreen on Market Street.

Currently, we are writing both life and general business in the Asia Pacific region.

We are now seeking to fill the following position in our Singapore team.

Responsibilities
You will gain hands-on experience by supporting senior actuaries and the Head of Actuary in core functions, focusing on learning and execution:

• Reserving Support: Assist the reserving team by preparing and organizing data for quarterly technical reserve estimations across various lines of business.
• Research Support: Assist the reserving team in actuarial research work.

Your Profile

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Technical Skills: Strong command of Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Familiarity with basic SQL, R, or Python is a strong advantage.
• Analytical Ability: Demonstrate strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
• Work Ethic: Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced corporate environment.
• Able to commit 3 to 6 months for minimum 3 days per week.
