Description


Provide actuarial services to support our operations in the Singapore branch. This includes development and deployment of pricing tools, pricing analytics, case pricing, portfolio management, reserving (including Appointed Actuary responsibilities), reporting and planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a technical and product expert for all lines of business
  • Deliver the following effectively and independently with junior analyst support from the Actuarial Central Hub in Hong Kong
  • Quarterly reserving analyses, planned deep dives and review of reserving results with the local reserve committee and management team
  • Monthly and quarterly financial reporting with loss ratio performance analysis
  • Quarterly and annual MAS reporting (Statutory returns, Valuation Report, Stress Test, ORSA)
  • Monitoring of strategic actions and portfolio profitability reviews
  • Quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting of loss ratios
  • Group annual independent reserve assessment
  • Improve reserving, reporting, planning and portfolio management processes to create efficiency and more time on analytics, business insight and stakeholder management
  • Support internal and external actuarial and accounting audits
  • Collaborate with Risk, Audit and Compliance on all internal reviews and deliverables
  • Support the implementation of IFRS 17 and be a leader and expert on the actuarial initiatives locally
  • Provide effective regular training to internal customers to better understand KPIs and to improve the quality of input to enhance operational efficiencies

Requirements:

  • Qualified Actuary with any International Actuarial Bodies
  • 8 years actuarial experience in Reserving, Pricing and/or Portfolio management
  • Commercial General Insurance Experience preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of the underwriting assessment process and claims management process
  • Use of data visualization to create actionable insights
  • Experience with Excel, Power Point, SAS, R, SQL, any actuarial software
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Multiple stakeholder management at country and regional level
