The Singapore Actuarial Society (SAS) is the recognised representative body of the actuarial profession in Singapore. You will be part of a tight-knit team which oversees the overall operations of the society. We are looking for candidates with strong event management, organisational planning and marketing experience.

Permanent position
Salary: S$4k-S$6k per month, with variable bonus

Focus will be approximately 40% Event Organisation / 30% Operational Planning & Support / 30% Marketing/Digital

Responsibilities:

Planning & Operations:

  • Event planning: Organise and plan physical events & virtual webinars – manage logistics, vendors from the planning stage to physical setup, execution and post-event follow-ups.
  • Facilitation and application for government grants.
  • Stakeholder liaison: Coordination and liaising with internal and external parties including government bodies, volunteers, external auditors, vendors etc. Handling queries from members, internal and external parties, including the tracking and resolution of queries.
  • Vendor management: Sourcing and evaluation of vendors. Ensure vendors comply with the contract requirements.
  • Operations planning: assist with regulatory filings, coordinating meetings where needed to ensure smooth running of the SAS office. Tracking and preparation of reports, analysis.
  • Monitor data management and processes in respect of requirements for SAS’ internal and external reporting, PDPA requirements etc.
  • Providing strong support to the Executive Director and Executive Committee where needed i.e. minute taking, preparation of presentations, reports and analysis.
  • Provide guidance and training to other team members.

Communications & Marketing:

  • Communications: Planning of communications for digital media (email circulars, social media posts, press releases). Management of social media channels.
  • Outreach: Maintain and establish contacts with key business partners (i.e. government bodies, sponsors, corporates) to grow membership and enhance SAS’ standing in the industry. Support the coordination of SAS’s outreach activities.
  • Designing of marketing collaterals.

Digital:

  • Refresh of SAS website content, including redesign of website to enhance usability.
  • Project lead website development working with internal stakeholders and web developers.
  • Manage and utilise software and digital platforms including:
    • Website – Drupal/Wordpress, Google Analytics
    • Marketing/design – Mailchimp/Sender (or alternative email marketing tool), Canva
    • Strong MS Office skills – Powerpoint, Word, Excel
    • Conferencing Platforms – Zoom, MS Teams
    • Project management – Trello

Minimum Requirements:

  • Holds a diploma or degree in IT, business or marketing related discipline.
  • Min of 5 years in a similar role, with a strong focus on event and organisational planning.
  • Capable and experienced event manager.
  • Experience in planning and running marketing campaigns (digital & offline).
  • Strong in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong facilitation skills and experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve and independently tackle issues to resolution.
  • Self-directed. Pro-active.
  • Ability to multi-task, efficient.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and be hands on, a team player.
  • Attention to detail and organised.
